Valentine’s Fondue
Feb 13 @ 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Valentine'sTired of chocolate for Valentine’s Day? Join us to celebrate Valentine’s weekend with wine and fondue. We will have cheese fondue going all day to pair with your flight of wine.

$10 covers tasting fee and fondue.

We are pleased to welcome winemaker Jesus Guillen to share his delicious and highly rated Pinot Noir at Winter’s Hill on February 13 & 14.

Guillen Family logo

Starting with the 2006 vintage, Jesus has rapidly developed a reputation as one of Oregon’s most promising winemakers. The glowing reviews speak to the quality of his wines, and with his enthusiasm for sharing his wines and his winemaking philosophy, it is no wonder that many of his wines have sold out before being bottled. For his fans, the biggest problem has been trying to get their hands on more of his wines. We are happy to help make that a little easier.

Starting in February, Guillen Family Wines will be pouring tastes and sharing their wines once a month at Winter’s Hill, and this fall, Jesus will begin making his wines at Winter’s Hill, sharing the space and collaborating occasionally with Winter’s Hill winemaker Russell Gladhart. Stay tuned for details about upcoming tastings and events.

445The Beautiful Pig will be here sampling their locally sourced and made charcuterie.

“There’s no precedent for a vintage exactly like this in Oregon, but there is in Burgundy. Mike Etzel of Beaux Frères did some research and found a description of the 1959 Côte d’Or growing season in a book by Clive Coates that matches uncannily: early flowering, warm, dry, with late-August rains, a cool September and early harvest. Those Burgundies were magnificent and long-lived. If Oregon’s 2015 turns out as well, it could be the state’s most extraordinary vintage.” -Harvey Steiman, “Harvest 2015: Oregon’s Wet Years Are Not Created Equal.” Wine Spectator, Oct 2015.
