Spring Cellar Door Wine Club Pick-Up Party

You are invited to join us for our semiannual Cellar Door Wine Club Pick-Up Party. This is your opportunity to sample the current wines in the club shipment, and meet with the Gladharts to learn more about the estate property, the winery and the wines.

We are packing our bags, and making our way to the big city of Portland for a food & wine pairing event with Chef Sally Krantz at B.O.R.C. You will be treated to a seated comparative tasting hosted by owner & winemaker, Russell Gladhart.  You will be sampling 3 wines paired with food, and a unique barrel sample of 2016 Pinot Noir. Chef Sally will introduce the foods she decided to pair with each wine, while Russell takes you through the wine flight. Once you are finished with the food & wine pairing you are invited to hang out in the cafe side of B.O.R.C. to enjoy an extra glass or two of wine, and/or order more food. All the wines you sample will be available for purchase.

Seating Times: 4:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.

Cost: $35 advance ticket, or $45 at the door.

About Chef Sally Krantz:
Sally Krantz trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and also worked for 3 Star Michelin Chef  Alain Passard at his Paris restaurant L’Arpege. Sally opened her first Saffron Cafe In Hong Kong 15 years ago and before leaving to return to her hometown of Portland, the business consisted of 5 cafes and a central kitchen that supplied breads pastry products  and cakes to supermarkets, cafes & restaurants  all over Hong Kong.

“Oregon has never had three consecutive vintages like this,” said Dick Shea of Shea Vineyards. “There were bigger berries in 2014, and they really ripened up. This encouraged the blue component in the color and flavor. The grapes were smaller in 2015 and there was more heat at harvest, which made for more black fruit flavors. The 2016s also had small berries, and we thought it would be identical to 2015. In the fermentations, the wines showed more aromatic lift and less tannins. They’re more elegant.” -Wine Harvest Report 2016, Harvey Steinman, Wine Spectator, October 2016.

Rosé Release & Vertical Tasting Party

You are invited to join us to celebrate the release of the 2016 Rosé of Pinot Noir!

We barrel ferment our Rosé of Pinot Noir in neutral French oak because it gives the Rosé a bit more body, and more complexity.  The oak also allows the Rosé to develop more as it ages. In order to best experience the difference we will be sampling a vertical our our Rosés. We will have a few cases of the 2014 & 2015 vintages to sample and purchase as well as the new 2016.

The Chef will assist you with making your own masterpiece, then sit down with a glass of wine to enjoy the day. If you don’t want to make your own pizza then you can have the Chef make it for you. Dionysus Dash is coming to Winter’s Hill Estate to host a 5k trail run complete with wine tasting! We hope you’ll join us!

Are you worthy to run with Dionysus the Greek God of Wine?

Please join us for a 5k run/walk through the beautiful vineyards at Winter’s Hill Estate.
This event is for the novice and avid runners, wine tasters and Greek walkers.

We will have wine tasting, music and awards. It is time to RUN with the “Greek God of Wine” Dionysus We encourage everyone to bring out their TOGA’s and greek head pieces.

Sunday, July 30 –
6:30am – Winery Gates Open
6:30am-7:30am – Race Day Packet Pickup
7:30am-8:00am – Music, Vendors, Warmup

Wine Tastings to Immediately follow after participants cross the finish line.
11am Event Concludes

Feel free to stay to picnic and hang out at the Winery after you complete your run. Our event concludes at 11am. NO OUTSIDE LIQUOR ALLOWED.
This is a trail run. Please be prepared to run/walk through dirt, rocks, grass etc…
