Memorial Weekend Tasting Flight

We hope you will join us this Memorial Weekend! We have Beautiful Pig here all weekend sampling their delicious locally created charcuterie.  Then on Sunday Full Circle Creamery will be here as well sampling their delicious locally made cheeses. It’s a full weekend of wine and food!

 

Our tasting flight for the weekend:

2012  Pinot Gris 

“Pale golden yellow color and clear in the glass.  I was drawn to this wine immediately with its interesting aromas of fresh cut apple, tropical fruits, wax and a hint of lily.  Pleasing on the slightly creamy palate, with flavors of baked pear and apple, leading to a palate cleansing finish.  The wine shows a slight salinity to match well with Oysters.” Reviewed Septemeber 5, 2013 PinotFile.

 2013 Rosé of Pinot Noir

“The deep-watermelon hue suits the season: Extended skin contact has rendered it spicy and lively, almost like a very light red. While there’s a hint of candied cherries and raspberries on the nose, the zesty palate has a satisfying saline quality that makes you just want to slurp this stuff down. I’d pour this for cocktail hour but keep it on the table to pair with baked ham.” Katherine Cole for the Oregonian 4/14/14

2009 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills

On the nose you’ll find aromas of vanilla, blackberry, and black currant.  The wine is smooth and ample, with rich tannins.  In the mouth, spices such as white pepper, anise, and cumin come to the fore one after another.  The finish is long, with a slight hint of smoke. 89 points.  Wine Enthusiast

2012 Pinot Noir Block 9-115

An explosion of bramble berries fill the palate as you taste the wine. The 115 selection of Pinot Noir is known for it’s juicy acidity and this wine is no exception. Full, round tannins give the wine additional structure, leading to a finish of cotton candy, blueberry, with a hint of cranberry.

2006 Pinot Noir Reserve   

Nose is very spicy with black pepper, blackberry and chocolate with a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate the wine has three layers: blackberry leads to chocolate/mint and finally to a long earthy finish. Our Reserve label is a barrel select of the 6 best barrels in the cellar, and designed to be aged for 8-12 years allow additional layers of texture and flavor to be expressed as the wine evolves.
