New Tasting Flight!

flightWe’ve got a new tasting flight ready for this weekend! Stop by the winery this weekend to enjoy wines from 5 different vintages dating back to 2006. Make sure to bring a picnic so you can take advantage of our patio overlooking the Coastal Mountains while soaking in the sunshine.

2013 Pinot Blanc-“Use of stainless steel allows for aromas of dusty peach, Golden Delicious apple, cantaloupe and tangerine. The hallmark for this Pinot Blanc is its amazing brightness, an entry of Granny Smith apple, tangerine and lime that continues to push in delicious fashion. The Gladharts enjoy serving this with appetizers with scallops.” 5/17/14 Great Northwest Wine, Rating: Outstanding

2011 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills-On the nose, aromas of strawberry and rose petal predominate. Spices such as anise, thyme, and sage pair combine with the fine tannins to give the wine excellent structure. The spices and a savory umami note suggest a pairing with game such as rabbit or quail. You can enjoy this wine now, but it will be even better if you allow it to cellar for 2-5 years. Bronze Medal LA International Wine Competition

2008 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills-“Vivid ruby. Ripe expansive aromas of dark cherries, cherry-cola and violet, lifted by a spicy overtone. Smokey, oak-spiced red and dark berry flavors show impressive depth and pick up sweetness with air. At once rich and energetic, finishing with excellent backend cut and persistent spiciness. This is really suave and drinking well for a 2008, but it will age too.” 91 points. Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 2011

2012 Pinot Noir Block 9-114-“Deep red. Intense, spice-accented raspberry preserve and candied flowers on the nose. Silky and seamless in texture, with sappy, sharply delineated red fruit and spicecake flavors. Sweet berry and floral pastille notes linger on the very long, spicy, focused finish, which shows just a touch of tannins.” 92 points, Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar. July 2014.

2006 Pinot Noir Reserve-Nose is very spicy with black pepper, blackberry and chocolate with a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate the wine has three layers: blackberry leads to chocolate/mint and finally to a long earthy finish. Our Reserve label is a barrel select of the 6 best barrels in the cellar, and designed to be aged for 8-12 years allow additional layers of texture and flavor to be expressed as the wine evolves.
