“In a word, lovely.” Burghound reviews our 2015 Pinot noir

For in-depth understanding and reviews of Pinot noir, you can’t get much better than Allen Meadows and his quarterly journal, Burghound.  He tastes the best Pinot noir from around the world, and he doesn’t give out high scores too freely.  That’s why we were pleased and honored to receive these reviews.

92 points  2015 Dundee Hills Pinot noir

“Ripe, complex and layered aromas display notes of both red and dark currant, briar and a hint of anise.  The succulent, round and velvet-textured medium weight flavors posses solid mid-palate density as well as a sleek mouth feel that carries over to the sappy and dusty finale.  I like the complexity and this is really quite good plus it has the balance to age.” 92/2021+   $44 per bottle, Cellar Door Members $37.40/bottle. 


90 points 2015 Reserve Pinot noir

“A slightly spicier nose of ripe red cherry and raspberry aromas is suffused with pretty floral wisps.  There is good volume and mid-palate density to the delicious and caressing medium-bodied flavors that also culminate in a dusty and sappy finish that isn’t quite as complex, at least not today.  Still, this too is really very good although I prefer both of it’s stablemates. 90/2021+  $65/bottle, Cellar Door Members $55.25/bottle

91 points 2014 Cuvée du Vigneron

“An elegant, pure and airy nose is composed by red pinot fruit, floral and discreet spice wisps.  There is a lovely mouth feel to the relatively sleek and well detailed flavors that posses very good depth on the balanced and lingering finish.  This exceptionally pretty effort is already drinking well though is should continue to hold well.  In a word, lovely.” 91/2019+  (spoiler alert, we are sold out of this wine.)
