Winter's Hill Estate on iNaturalist

We have welcomed many bird-watching enthusiasts to Winter’s Hill over the years, but last month we hosted our first official bird survey by the Salem Audubon Society.

When they told us they had observed 206 individual birds and 39 species, we were thrilled! You can read the full survey here. Remember to bring your binoculars on your next visit to Winter’s Hill, you won’t be disappointed!

If you want to see more of the many plant and animal species that have been identified at Winter’s Hill, visit iNaturalist.org and enter NE Winters Hill Road in the Locations bar.

Your best opportunity to see some new species is this Sunday when Emily and Master Melittologists (volunteer bee experts) will lead tours of the gardens and vineyards of Winter’s Hill as part of the Oregon Bee Project.

Whether you’re a gardener, nature lover, or simply curious about the tiny creatures that keep our ecosystems thriving, this is a unique opportunity to experience the vineyard in a whole new way.
