This week we are finishing the 2026 Harvest under ideal conditions! The past two weeks of warm, sunny weather were just what our vines needed to ripen the fruit to perfection. We are already seeing intense color in our Pinot noir, and the wines have a density and elegance that have us excited. We’ve used more whole cluster fruit this year (rather than removing the stems) which should lead to more spice notes and age-worthy wines.
Could it have been better? We don’t think so…
The last harvest of Pinot noir in 2026 was this Tuesday for Trop, our Port-style wine that is quickly becoming one of our most popular wines. With the intensity and structure we are seeing this year, it could be our best version yet.
On Friday we will harvest the fruit for our Reserve Pinot gris. For this wine, we like to allow the fruit to get as ripe as possible. When Pinot gris is fully ripe, it has an aroma and flavor of raw honey that I love. I can’t wait to see how it develops in the barrel over the next year.
We’re looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend for our Fall Pick-up event, our friends from Farmer’s Plate & Pantry are working on a Lamb Sugo that sounds delicious!
