Your Tasting Experience
RESERVATIONS:
We’re a small winery, so reservations help us plan and prepare for your visit. However, we know that exploration is part of the magic of wine country. Walk-in guests are welcome; we try to keep a couple of tables available for the free spirits of the world.
FLIGHT DETAILS:
Each tasting lasts approximately 60 minutes and features a flight of 5 estate grown wines.
We’re proud of our Pinot noir, and we know that visitors to Oregon want to taste the wine that made our region world famous. We always include at least two Pinot noir wines on the flight, but we also love to share other favorites such as Pinot blanc, Chardonnay, Method Oregon Sparkling wine, and dessert wines. Please check our tasting flight for this month’s selections.
TASTING FEE:
The tasting fee is $30 per person, which is waived with a $100 wine purchase or by joining the Cellar Door Club.
GROUP SIZE:
Winter’s Hill is perfect for couples or small groups looking for an intimate, personalized experience. Please contact us in advance for groups larger than 6. Children and non-tasters count toward the total number in your party.
FAMILY & FOOD:
Picnics, dogs, and children are allowed.
If you are bringing a picnic, bear in mind that yellow jackets are especially attracted to meat.
HAVE QUESTIONS?
We love guests with lots of questions! Our team is experienced and knowledgeable about how we grow our grapes and make our wines. Whether you are new to wine or a long-time Pinot noir fan, we want to make your Winter’s Hill experience enjoyable and satisfying. The owners and winemaker are usually onsite to welcome our guests and share our family’s story.
We are often asked…
Yes! We ship our wine to almost every state where it is legal to do so. If you purchase 12 bottles or join our club, you’ll be eligible for free shipping.
TIMING: If you are visiting in the summer, we may hold your order until the Fall when temperatures drop and it is safe to ship wine.
CHECK YOUR WINE: Another option is to check your wine as an additional suitcase. We sell 6 and 12 bottle shipping boxes, allowing you to purchase a few bottles at multiple wineries during your visit to Oregon Wine Country. If you are travelling on Alaska Airlines, ask us about the Oregon Wine Flies Free program.
Unfortunately, you can’t buy our wines at stores BUT we can ship our wines to you! Go to WintersHillWine.com to place an online order or call/text (503) 864-4592 to place an order with one of our team members. We also invite you to join our club and/or set up a subscription.
If you live in the Portland region, you will find our wines served by the glass at many fine restaurants.
There are several ways to stay connected! We have a weekly or monthly e-newsletter in which we share recipes, vineyard and winemaking updates, and upcoming events. We also occasionally send limited-time offers and new release announcements via email.
Our website also features our blog with stories detailing what we have been up to!
(We never, ever, ever sell contact information so we hope you’ll consider signing up!)
Our best prices are offered to Cellar Door Club members and wine pouch subscribers who save 15-20% on their wine purchases any time they visit or order online.
To save even more, club and non-club members can be added to our to FinalPour list by texting FinalPour25 to 503-864-4592. These very limited-time offers are available 8-10 times per year.
If you are looking for something in particular that is not the featured flight, don’t hesitate to ask your host, we can usually accommodate requests. Please ask!
Yes, you are welcome to walk down to the vineyard to visit our Kune-kune pigs. We move them every few days, so ask the team for directions. Don’t touch the electric fence, but you can step over it if you want to scratch the pigs. They are very friendly, but please keep dogs outside of the fence.
Yes, you are welcome to bring outside food, including snacks or a picnic lunch, to enjoy with your tasting. No outside alcohol is allowed.
We don’t have a kitchen to prepare food onsite, but we are happy to recommend local shops or restaurants who can prepare a light meal for you to pick up on your way to Winter’s Hill.
Yes! We welcome families, including children and any other members of your family who may not want to taste wine.
Yes, you can bring your dog! Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on our tasting patio. Due to health regulations, dogs are not allowed inside our working winery.
After your tasting, you are welcome to exercise your dogs in the field adjacent to the parking area, or walk our farm roads. (No swimming in the pond, please!)
We hope so! We’re an authentic Oregon working vineyard and winery, and we share our wines in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Our tasting patio and winery tastings are perfect for couples or small groups looking for an intimate, personalized experience.
We’re in the heart of the Dundee Hills AVA, the most well-known region in Oregon for producing world-class wines, especially Pinot noir. Our vineyards border Stoller and Domaine Serene, and we’re less than a mile from Archery Summit, Domaine Drouhin, Durant, Resonance and many others.

Explore the Winery Grounds and Natural Spaces
A visit to Winter’s Hill is more than just a chance to taste our wines. It’s also an opportunity to see and appreciate the landscape that we have been working to protect and enhance over the past three generations. The winery grounds and natural spaces have been planted to native flowering forbs, shrubs, and trees. This provides habitat for many animals, birds, and insects, in particular the native bees and butterflies.
We have been recognized by many organizations for our success in protecting and enhancing the natural environment while also managing a working farm. We continue to find new ways to strengthen our connection to the land. In 2025 we added sheep and Kune-kune pigs to Winter’s Hill. The animals help us control invasive weeds and reduce fire danger, while also improving soil health and biodiversity. Our farm roads are open for birdwatching or a stroll after your tasting.
