If you are looking for the best Chardonnay that Winter’s Hill has produced, look no further…
2022 González Chardonnay
I am thrilled with the concentration, balance, and length of this wine. Fermented in a single new French oak Puncheon, the intensity of the fruit is matched (but not overpowered) by the fine tannins of the oak. Aromas of honeysuckle and pear burst from the glass. On the palate, honey and graham cracker are balanced by fresh, luscious lime and delicate oak tannins.
This bottling honors our Vineyard Manager, Luciano Reyes González. In 2025, Luciano has been particularly busy as he steps into some of Peter’s responsibilities while also managing our transition to Organic Certification.
Working around the constraints of an Oregon summer often mean starting at 5am or earlier. In spite of that, Luciano has also found time to plant a personal garden of tomatoes and peppers in the vineyard. Now he just has to protect it until harvest time…
